Flooded Basement Cleanup

Why do basements flood?

Burst pipes, sudden downpours, a copious amount of storm water, broken gutters, leaky windows, damaged foundation, and sudden removal of large trees near your home are all examples of how water can flood your basement. Water flows downhill into the lowest areas and it can make its way through even the smallest cracks and openings.

Depending upon the age of your home and the region in which you live, your foundation is most likely either poured concrete or stacked concrete blocks. Sometimes the foundation is coated or shielded with a water barrier material designed to keep water out. Over time homes settle and shift, sometimes compromising the structural solidity of the foundation.

Flooded Basement Cleanup

Basements are the lowest point in a home and tend to flood first during any kind of water emergency. When the unexpected happens, we're on-site within hours to restore your home as quickly as possible. With rapid response, your floors, walls, and personal property can often be restored.

Water intrusions can occur in basements from sources inside and outside the structure. Excessive rain or snow melt can over-saturate the ground, resulting in hydrostatic pressure. Hydrostatic pressure occurs when moisture outside of the basement or foundational wall exceeds the pressure inside. Water will naturally seek the lower pressure, resulting in foundational leaks and even cracks.

Here's how we get your home back to normal

  • We will remove the water quickly and efficiently before the water starts to cause structural damage and secondary water problems occur
  • We bring in dehumidifiers that work to remove the moisture and start moving the air to help to dry out the basement
  • Once the water and the moisture are completely removed, we will clean, sanitize and treat the area with an antimicrobial agent to make sure that mold does not form

We work with you through every step of the process and often times, work with your insurance company to get your claims processed as quickly as possible.

Flooded Crawlspace Cleanup

Crawlspaces can become nightmares for so many houses because of mold and mud, condensation and puddles, not to mention the occasional dead animal. Water Damage professionals can clean your crawlspace and restore the damage, whether it’s moisture or mold, while working to prevent future damage. We can help homeowners handle insurance paperwork. Call us first, if there is an insurance claim involved.

Signs of a poorly maintained crawlspace:

A group of people are working in a basement.
  • Growing mold and fungus
  • Housing rats, mice, animals, and other pests
  • Housing a pathogen carried by rodents known as hantavirus
  • Developing standing water or sewage which will attract insects
  • Wasting energy due to poor insulation
  • Damaged wiring
  • Possible structural collapse due to wear and tear or damage
  • Asbestos flakes from old insulation

A home's crawlspace is one of the most difficult spaces to clean. While a crawlspace may be convenient to hold duct work, electrical conduit and plumbing fixtures that would otherwise take up living space in your home, it must be properly maintained. Contact us for expert crawlspace cleanup services.
